Elan Valley Lodge
We are returning for a second year to the Elan Valley Lodge. The building was formerly the Schoolhouse for the Elan Village. It was built in Victorian times when the Elan Valley Dams were constructed to create enormous Reservoirs in order to supply the city of Birmingham with clean water. Now the Elan Valley is renowned as a tourist attraction offering clean, fresh air and natural beauty. It is also an International Dark Sky Park, so weather permitting you can really see the stars.
The Lodge has been awarded 5 star activity accommodation status. Please note this is not the same as a five star hotel! The Retreat will be fully catered for and special dietary requirements can be met provided there is advance notice. Main meals will be vegetarian. You will be making your own 'packed lunches' so meat eaters can satisfy their carnivorous urges at lunchtime! Tea and coffee making facilities are available in a guest kitchenette at all times and there is an honesty bar.
The bedrooms are quite small and basic, but the Centre prides itself on cleanliness and all the rooms are ensuite. Some of the single rooms share their ensuite bathroom with the neighbouring room. You would be sharing with someone of the same sex if you are in one of these rooms. If you have a medical reason for needing a totally private bathroom please tell us.
